Frequently asked questions
What are sustainable packaging?
OM Packaging has manufactured sustainable packaging in Sonipat, Haryana since 1999. We specify every order around your product, fill weight and transport route, supply samples for approval and keep specifications on record, so repeat orders match the quality you approved the first time.
Can sustainable packaging be customised?
Yes. Diameter, height, capacity, wall strength, closures, liners and printing are all made to order. Share what you are packing, the fill weight and how the product will be stored and shipped, and our team will recommend a practical, cost-effective specification for your requirement.
Do you provide samples before bulk orders?
Yes. We supply samples so you can test fit, filling, sealing and handling in your own facility before placing a bulk order. Once you approve the sample, production follows the same specification, giving you consistent quality across every repeat order and dispatch.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Minimum quantity depends on size, construction and level of customisation. Standard specifications can usually be supplied in smaller quantities than fully printed or special-size orders. Send your requirement through the quote form and we will advise the most economical quantity for your business.
How quickly will I receive a quotation?
Most enquiries receive a reply within one working day. To speed things up, include your product, fill weight per drum, preferred closure, liner needs, monthly quantity and delivery location. You can also call or WhatsApp us on +91 98112 83044 for urgent requirements.
Are fibre drums environmentally friendly?
Fibre drums are made mainly from kraft paper, are recyclable and weigh less than steel or plastic drums, which reduces freight emissions. OM Packaging discontinued HDPE and GI drums to focus on paper and fibre products that protect goods while reducing plastic and metal use.

Sustainable packaging – OM Packaging
At OM Packaging, sustainable packaging is part of how we work, not a marketing line. We discontinued HDPE and GI drums to focus on paper and fibre products, and we keep improving how our sustainable packaging is designed, produced and recycled.
Why choose fibre drums from OM Packaging
Since 1999 OM Packaging has manufactured fibre drums in Sonipat, Haryana for customers who cannot afford packaging failures. Every order starts with your product, fill weight and route to market, so the fibre drums you receive is specified for real handling conditions rather than picked from a generic catalogue. Consistent winding, accurate dimensions and well-fitting closures mean repeat orders perform exactly like the approved sample. Good sustainable packaging always starts with understanding the product.
How fibre drums are made
Our fibre drums begin as multiple plies of high-strength kraft paper, spirally wound with adhesive to form a rigid wall. The tube is cut to height, fitted with a secure base and finished with a rim and lid matched to your closure requirement. Wall thickness is chosen for the fill weight and stacking height your fibre drums must withstand. It is a practical example of sustainable packaging in everyday industrial use.
Where fibre drums are used
Manufacturers use fibre drums for bulk drugs and intermediates, specialty chemicals, pigments, food ingredients, spices, agrochemicals and nutraceuticals. Dry powders, granules, flakes and semi-solids all travel well in fibre packaging, and liners can be added when products are sensitive to moisture or contamination. Customers often tell us this is what they need most from sustainable packaging.
Customisation options
Every order of fibre drums can be tailored: diameter, height and capacity, wall strength, metal lever-lock or clamp-ring closures, fibre or plastic lids, LDPE or HDPE liner bags, moisture barriers and printed branding with handling marks. Tell us how your fibre drums will be filled, stored and shipped and we will recommend the right combination. These details are what make sustainable packaging work in real supply chains.
Quality checks at every stage
Quality is built into each stage of production. Kraft paper is inspected on arrival, wall thickness and diameter are measured during winding, and finished fibre drums are checked for base strength, rim finish and lid fit before dispatch. Records of each approved specification mean the drums in your next order behave exactly like the drums in your last one. Consistency is a core part of sustainable packaging at OM Packaging.
Better for your supply chain and the environment
Choosing fibre drums lowers tare weight, cuts plastic use and makes end-of-life recycling simpler. Our quality checks cover wall strength, dimensions and closure fit, so sustainability never comes at the cost of product protection. Small habits like these support sustainable packaging goals over time.
Getting the most from your packaging
A few simple practices extend the life of fibre drums: keep them dry, avoid dragging drums across rough floors, close lids fully after partial use and rotate stock so older drums are used first. Our team can advise on stacking heights and pallet patterns for your product and warehouse. Talk to our team about sustainable packaging for your business.
From enquiry to delivery
Send us your requirement and our team will suggest the right fibre drums, share a quotation and arrange samples for approval. Once approved, production follows the agreed specification and the order is dispatched from our Sonipat facility with clear communication on timelines. This is central to how we approach sustainable packaging.
